Comprehensive 5-Step
Lawn Care Program
As locals, we know firsthand through our many years of experience with the Front Range climate and local soil conditions that it can be challenging to grow a green, lush lawn.
That’s why through much trial and error with different products, soil science and soil tests, we have perfected our own specially formulated dry, custom ordered, proprietary fertilizer blend unique to Schra Tree Care and the Front Range area.
Through our 5 step program and your proper watering schedule we can achieve a beautiful lawn.
Proprietary Fertilizer Blend
High-quality, specially formulated, proprietary fertilizer blend to improve drought tolerance.
Macro/Micro-Organic Nutrients
Added ingredients to cultivate better soil conditions and root growth, and address high soil pH levels through macro/micro-organic nutrients.
Weed Control for Turf
Weed control for your unsightly, stubborn weeds and crab grass.
Common Lawn Issues
Don’t make the mistake of ignoring potential lawn diseases. If you suspect that your lawn is having any issues, reach out to us right away. We will do everything in our power to help save your lawn.
Ascochyta Leaf Blight
This disease may resemble drought stress but the difference is that this disease causes quick changes to large areas of turfgrass resulting in straw-colored leaves in your lawn (sometimes as quickly as overnight). See the pictures for examples.
Necrotic Ring Spot
During cool, wet weather, circular or doughnut-shaped patches of dead grass will develop. Symptoms may be apparent throughout the growing season, but they commonly intensify in late July or August during periods of summer stress and can go beyond 2-3 feet. The patches may be localized to one part of the yard or widely scattered throughout the lawn.
Spider Mites
Most damage from spider mites occurs during warm months. Almost all injury occurs within 10 feet of a building, tree or some other upright surface. Areas of grass extending several feet may be totally killed, appearing as light brown, dead patches
Sod Webworm (Grub)
The damage caused by sod webworms usually shows up in July and August. Damage appears as small brown patches about the size of a quarter to three inches in diameter. When many larvae are present in mid-summer, the small brown patches run together and form large irregular, thin and brown areas.
WITH EACH STEP OF OUR 5-STEP LAWN PROGRAM, YOUR LAWN WILL RECEIVE EXACTLY WHAT IT NEEDS AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME.

WHAT TO EXPECT EACH SEASON
First Application
One of our trained, licensed technicians will apply your first lawn application in early Spring, typically in April.
Once we have your application scheduled, you will be receiving a call, text and email from us at least 24 hours ahead of time and a call from the technician assigned to your job the day the service is scheduled.
Applications Round 2-5
After the first application, the following applications will be completed in 5–6-week cycles:
Spring (May-June)
Summer (July-August)
Late Summer (September)
Fall (October)
Free Lawn Evaluation Anytime
We’ll come out between applications to evaluate your lawn if needed to ensure your satisfaction, for free.
1st Application
We will start with a non-selective pre and post emergent application in the spring which helps control all unwanted vegetation before it takes seed and any vegetation present.
2nd Application
Then, we will be back in the summer months to apply another post emergent application to control pervasive, unwanted vegetation.
Additional Applications as Needed
And of course, if you are still seeing unwanted vegetation in between applications, we will happily come out to evaluate your lawn and apply another application to ensure your satisfaction.
Liquid Lawn Application
If you have a stressed lawn, we recommend our TurfMaster-Pro application which is Schra Tree Care’s version of revive.
Over the years, we have found just the right liquid soil building application that is specially formulated to address local soil conditions, leaving you with a stronger, healthier, drought resistant lawn.
